CPA Canada is the national organization representing the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) profession in Canada. CPA Canada is embarking on an exciting transition to position the organization as an influential thought leader in the Canadian business community and a leading Canadian professional organization with a first class digital content operation—one that will create value for current and future Chartered Professional Accountants, as well as make CPA Canada a trusted source for both large and small Canadian businesses. Social media is a key communications and engagement channel for CPA Canada. The social media team is responsible for managing the organization’s presence on social channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) and implementation of the organization's social media strategy and policies. We work in close collaboration with stakeholders across the organization to engage, inform and support our audience on social media. Reporting to the Principal Digital, the Social Media Specialist/specialist is a skilled, digital-first native who will execute the social media strategy and social media tactics of brand and product marketing campaigns. Working closely with the Social Media Manager, the Specialist/specialist manages the day-to-day content creation process for social media (copywriting, media production, translation, etc.) including generating, editing, publishing and sharing daily content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action. They are also responsible for the creation and implementation of highly targeted ads on social media that support each campaign's objectives in alignment with the overarching strategy. The Specialist/specialist continuously monitors and manages social media channels, supporting daily operations of building a vibrant online community. They responding to and engaging with queries and comments from the community in alignment with CPA Canada messaging.

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Execution of social media strategies
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Manage the content creation process (copywriting, media production, translation) for social media campaigns
  • Ensure that all social media content adheres to CPA Canada’s brand and voice guidelines
  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content
  • Maintain editorial calendars and syndication schedules
  • Conduct social media research, build influencer lists Social media advertising
  • Generate, edit, test and execute paid social content (original text, images, video or HTML) that supports brand and product marketing campaigns
  • Conduct audience targeting research for each platform, ensuring ads are targeted to reach optimum performance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to recommend effective approaches to paid social content which support campaign objectives Community Management
  • Continuously monitor and manage social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community; responding to compliments or complaints
  • Collaborate with other departments (customer relations, sales, etc.) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions Reporting and Analysis
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
  • Support the development of social media reports and presentations to aid in building a digital culture and understanding of social with staff

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Degree/Certificate in Marketing, PR/Communications or Journalism or related discipline
  • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist with 3+ years of experience
  • Experience in producing successful brand and product social media campaigns
  • Expertise in best practice approaches to LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube advertising
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr etc.) and how they can be deployed
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Strong project management or organizational skills
  • Analytical orientation resulting in data-driven insights
  • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, CRO and SEO
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels
  • Fluency in English and French is beneficial
