Reporting to the Manager, Communications, Development & Alumni Relations, the Digital Engagement Specialist works collaboratively with colleagues within Development & Alumni Relations (DAR) and across the university to effectively engage our alumni and donors through innovative and compelling social and digital communications.

The Digital Engagement Specialist will have primary responsibility for managing the strategy, content creation and ongoing enhancements to the Laurier alumni website, as well as all Laurier alumni social media channels to inspire alumni and donor engagement. The Digital Engagement Specialist will work closely with colleagues within DAR to evaluate, conceptualize and create engaging experiences to enhance and maximize the website and social media channels ensuring a more comprehensive multi-channel digital outreach.


The ideal candidate will possess a College Diploma in digital media, marketing, communication or a related field, with a minimum of four years recent related experience in communications, web technology or a related field with a focus on web and digital communications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent proofreading skills is essential. The incumbent will require a solid understanding of SEO & SEM, be an expert of media software and have a high level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
